A role model or mentor who inspires you to keep going. You might even serve as your own mantra. For instance, you can create a journal in which you recount every attempt and every bit of progress you make towards your next goal. Seeing how far you’ve come and getting a positive emotional kick for seeing what you’ve accomplished can keep you engaged with the goal.
The body matters
Motivation isn’t all mental, either. Our physical reserves of energy, the balance of hormones in our body, these are also important. For instance, exercising helps you not only become more physically active. It also sharpens the mind.
