We can often feel a bit down if we haven’t seen anyone for a while. Living on your own can be quite lonely, and this loneliness will certainly get us down. So, why not pick up the phone and give a friend or relative a quick call. If they don’t live too far away, you could always pop around for a catch up. Talking face-to-face or over the phone is much better than staying in touch digitally on social media as it is a lot more personal.

Our mental health can sometimes suffer slightly if we haven’t been getting enough sleep. Do you know how many hours of sleep you are getting each night? Ideally, you should be getting at least 7. We are what we eat; if we eat a lot of unhealthy foods, our bodies and minds will be negatively affected. So, make sure your diet is full of fresh fruit and veggies and that you limit fatty and sugary foods. It’s also a good idea to eat foods that help improve moods. Thankfully, most periods of low moods will only last for a week or two at most. Before long, you will be back to your usual happy self. If things don’t improve, though, you should consider seeking professional help. There are lots of mental health specialists who will be able to point you in the right direction of any medication or therapy that you might need.
