Upgrade Your Accessories

We put so much focus on to what we have in our wardrobe that sometimes we can forget one of the most simple rules followed by one of the most stylish women in the world, Coco Chanel.  It’s not about what you wear it’s how you style it.

Simplicity in your outfit, such as black skinny jeans and a basic white tee, is like setting a blank canvas and gives you a brilliant base to go wild with accessories, which will give you the edge on all your fashionista mates whilst being elegant and cool.

Because a statement necklace or a costume ring can have so much influence on your chosen look, it makes sense to invest a little more than the average high street brand and whilst all these looks can be mimicked on the high street we thought we would take a look at ways of upgrading your accessory basics.

One of the most elegant looks with a twist of contemporary, is silver jewellery.  Investing in a solid silver bangle or delicate long chain can make a subtle impact to what you wear.  You can take this a step further by looking at a silver, diamond ring which will add a little sparkle to your life too.  Check out Tiffany and Co Review to make sure you know what to look for and familiarise yourself with the brand before investing in this iconic, beautiful bodywear.

As mentioned earlier Chanel was the master of up styling a basic look.  She opted for multiple length strings of pearls.  Her signature look was little black everything with beautiful light pearls draped around her neck or over her wrist and it was a stunning contrast.  From earrings to strings and all that is in between get to a specialist such as Tara Pearls and find your own version of this incredible style.

A watch can be more than just a timepiece, some brands such as MB&F create little works of art for your wrist.  You can’t go wrong with a simple chain link watch though in cool stainless steel or yellow or white gold plate.  Rolex offer a pretty pricey, but once in a lifetime, range of watches although there are quality brands with a lower price tag.  For a bold statement look at going with a mans watch.  Whilst they are larger than most women wear, the chunky size can look awesome on a delicate wrist.

Handbags are often overlooked but are a really great way of saying “Hey world, I’m here” Go super luxury with Hermes or look at smaller brand handmade leather totes.  The attention to detail within quality made stitching makes for a sharper, more classy look.

If you go for a few carefully chosen, luxury pieces, you can mix them up with high street favourites for a really great look.  Quality does pay and can also help make a more economical jean look like a designer staple.  It’s about distracting the eye and delivering the ultimate cool.

So invest in your collection and be the envy of all!

Stylish & Elegant Date Fashion

Every woman struggles when it comes to dressing for dates. The problem is that we want to wow our dates (of course we do), but we also don’t want to look like we’ve gone all out and overdressed for the occasion. When it comes to date night fashion, it’s easy to feel like you’re trapped between a rock and a hard place. Although dressing for a date – be it a first date or the tenth date – isn’t always easy, it doesn’t have to leave you feeling stressed out. Here are some tips to make dress for dates in a stylish and elegant way, without looking over the top, easier.

You can’t go wrong with skinny jeans

No matter what type of date you’re going on, you really can’t go wrong with skinny jeans. Black skinny jeans paired with a smart top and a pair of pretty flats or wedges is the perfect look for almost any date. It doesn’t matter where you’re going; this look will wow your date. This look is the perfect combination of dressy meets relaxed – you can add additional elegance with a sophisticated hairdo and a classy clutch, such as one of the Olga Berg designs.

Use accessories to make a statement

If you’re worried about your look being too boring, dress it up with accessories. As well as adding a few simple pieces, such as earrings, hair pieces, and a bracelet, consider adding a statement piece. To increase the wow factor of your outfit, adding a statement accessory, such as a piece of jewelry, is ideal. It’s just a case of finding that perfect piece of jewelry that matches your outfit and adds extra elegance and style to your look. Don’t forget to pair your outfit with a cute bag or clutch purse, to add additional style.

Make your little black dress your go-to outfit

Every woman needs a little black dress (also known as LBD), as for dates it’s the perfect choice for throwing on. When you’re not feeling jeans, or you wore your favorite jeans on your last date, a little black dress could be the ideal outfit option. Pair it with tights, a cute cardigan or jackets, a statement piece of jewelry, and your favorite pair of heels, and you can make a real impact when you walk through the door, without looking overdressed, of course.

Ensure that you feel good

When it comes to dressing for a date, the most important thing is to ensure that you feel good in what you are wearing. You see, if you don’t feel confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing, then you won’t enjoy yourself as you will be constantly thinking about your outfit. So, it’s important to make sure that you’re happy with whatever you’re wearing.

Dressing for a date is never easy, as there’s a lot that needs to be taken into account. However, there’s no need to get stressed out, like dressing to impress is much easier than you would think.

LBD Style

Every girl needs a Little Black Dress (or two) in her closet. These are our perfect “go-tos” for a variety of events. Business dinners and lunches, rehearsals/dinners, weddings, and really any event where the dress code is “Cocktail Attire”.

I love that these dresses can be worn with varying accessories and shoes to keep them looking fresh and different.

The one I am wearing was sent to me via Stitch Fix, and I paired it with classy jewelry and leopard print heels.

Find The Beauty In Everything

Juli, the owner of Find The Beauty In Everything, has always loved jewelry and gem stones. She tried creating some pieces several years ago, however she did not have the time she wanted to create more.

In March, her career path took a different turn, and she started taking some online marketing courses and also started creating jewelry again.

She has no training and simply decided to go for it! She started by creating necklaces and has recently added bracelets, earrings, as well as sets.

Juli attends various craft fairs, as well as sells her gorgeous items on Etsy

Her business name came from her daugher’s tattoo, a beautiful mandala that her friend drew, with the words “Find the Beauty in Everything” in cursive, written by her Dad.

They have used this phrase to adopt a new outlook on life.

She showcases her pieces beautifully on InstagramPinterest, and Facebook.

I love the necklace she sent me, and I love knowing that each of her pieces are one of a kind. The various blacks, browns, and golds in the gemstones means I can wear this necklace with many colors and outfits.

She told me that she created the piece using the specific dyed rutilated quartz, smoky quartz, and gold beads because she felt it would go well with leopard print; which means she also pays attention to personal touches for her customers.

I hope that you check her out, she is such an amazing woman and I am thank to have connected with her!

Fall For Versona

Recently, I was contacted by Versona (my favorite clothing, jewelry, and accessories store) to do a feature of some of their new items coming soon in their Fall Look Book!

I was so honored and delighted, plus very excited to see some of the great pieces they have coming for fall!

I popped into the store last week and spent time with Heather and Kelly, two fantastic Versona associates. They showed me some of the great tops, dresses, jewelry and more that we’ll be seeing this season.

Besides great bling, they have an excellent line of fall shoes! These heeled, black ankle boots are new this season, and will pair greatly with leggings or jeans.

They have also came out with some adorable clutches and wallets. I especially like the little, encouraging “Spend me” message on the bottom one.

Of course, it wouldn’t be fall with out plaid! Versona has a wonderful collection of shirts right now, they also have some great scarfs with fun colors in plaid as well.

This dress would be perfect with leggings and boots! I also like the long, gold necklace they paired with it. The warm tone of the brown will help you welcome fall.

How adorable is this jacket? It is such a beautiful gunmetal silver, that perfectly picks up a light pink. This not only looks amazing with a tulle skirt (see their Instagram post for how they styled it), but would also pair well with skinny jeans and black ankle boots!

No post would be complete without jewelry! Maroon/Burgundy looks to be the color this season, it will pair well with different colors and will transition from fall to winter.

You know I couldn’t pass up sharing the leopard print wrap bracelets, that also comes in other colors and styles.

The rhinestone floral necklace is a piece I can see for those glitzy Christmas parties and will also be perfect with a black dress on New Year’s Eve!

Lastly, how amazing are those statement earrings? I am looking forward to pairing them with some great outfits this season!

I hope you check out their Fall Look Book, it launches this Friday! Happy Shopping!

Boho Girl Design

I really enjoy when beautiful items come along and help me to expand my look and style.

Nola with Boho Girl Design did just that when she shared these amazing, handmade wrap bracelets with me!

She works full time, but makes these wonderful bracelets as a hobby. She specializes in leather wrap bracelets, crocheted wrap bracelets, flat licorice leather wrap bracelets, as well as anklets!

I really like the metal button closure on her bracelets, as well as her brand name on a little charm.

Nola got started in making beaded jewelry about 18 months ago. A new bead shop opened in her town (in Australia!) and she decided to take a couple classes. The rest, as she says, “is history!”.

She likes working with different techniques, but as you can see from her Etsy page, she loves the wrap style bracelets.

Nola enjoys being crafty, and is always on the look out for new techniques.

You can find Nola by the links below, I hope you’ll pop over and say hello!
