Summer is here, which means one thing: a vacation. There is nothing better than getting away to feel the warm sun on your skin and take in the breathtaking scenery. Sadly, summer holidays aren’t always that simple. As you know, a woman can’t just turn up without thinking about her style. After all, it’s important to look the part because looking good is feeling good, too. Thankfully, there are a few accessories that will take care of the problem. And, there is no need to have the fashion sense of Blake Lively or Margot Robbie, either.

Enjoy, ladies!

Straw Hat

There is no doubt that a straw hat looks amazing, so much so that you’d wear one at home if there were an excuse. Well, with the summer sun bearing down on your skin, you have an unimpeachable defense. With a wide brim, a hat like this helps keep the rays off your body and stops you from burning. Obviously, looking like a tomato isn’t the style that most women go for on vacation, but there is another factor. Too much sun can lead to potentially fatal diseases. Because we girls like to feel the burn, a hat is stylish and practical at the same time. What more could anyone want?

Sunglasses

Glasses and sunglasses also have an important role to play in your health, but they are more of an indulgence than anything. Yes, it’s nice to keep the sun out of your eyes for the sake of your peepers. However, two weeks a year isn’t going to do a lot of damage. But, forgetting the sunnies will do your street cred a lot of harm. Sunglasses are the perfect way to offset any style because they are flexible. You can opt for the slim line version if you want a sleek or elegant look, or there is the overgrown option. And, there is nothing more fashionable when you mix them with the right colors.

Fabric Handbag

You still need a bag to carry around your belongings, but it has to be suitable for the terrain. The majority of summer holidays take place close to a beach, which means sand. On the face of it, there is nothing to worry about, and then it gets in your bag. The havoc it causes for such a small particle is ridiculous, yet it will happen if the handbag isn’t up to purpose. Luckily, fabric or straw numbers are much more sand resistant, and they merge seamlessly with your holiday vibe.

Thin Shawl

The weather is brilliant during the day, yet the temperature drops off in the evening. If you haven’t changed, there might be a chill in the air which makes you shiver. And, there is no real way to warm up, so you have to grin and bear it until you get back to the hotel. Well, you don’t if you have a lightweight shawl. The extra layer, no matter how thin, will instantly make you warmer. Plus, you’ll be the most summery person in town if it’s brightly colored.

Simply put, no woman can go wrong with these accessories.

Keep Your Style Strong On A Beach Vacation

Let’s face it, we all have images in our minds of what we are going to look like on vacation. But the reality is often as far removed from the dream as it possibly can be. By the time we arrive at our destinations and endure sunburn, sand in every crevice, and the vacation diet seeming to add inches per day to your figure, stylish is probably the last thing we feel.

However, with a few simple tweaks on your vacation shopping list, it’s easy to keep yourself looking fine and dandy for the duration of your trip away. Let’s take a close look at everything you need to arrive at your destination in style – and ensure you leave the same way. Read on to find out more!

Breathable fabrics

First of all, the likelihood is you will be going to warmer climates when you take your vacation this year. Make sure you stock up on plenty of breathable, natural fabrics such as linen, rayon blends, and, of course, cotton. Synthetic materials are going to make you look sweaty, and also have a tendency to pick up a lot more sand and debris from beaches than natural fibers, so ensure that you focus on those breathable materials.

Stock up on sun block

By now, we all know the damage the sun can cause to our skin. But the crazy thing is that there is still way too many people who completely ignore this advice when they go on vacation. Sunburn is common when you go away for a break, either because you are trying to get as brown as possible to match the other bronzed bodies on the beach, or that you just underestimate the power of the sun in other parts of the world. Make sure you invest in enough sunblock for your skin type to ensure that you keep your skin looking fresh and healthy, rather than burnt, wrinkled, and aged.

The importance of shades

Sunglasses are essential for protecting your eyes from the glare of the sun, but they are also handy tools to keep us looking our best when we can’t be bothered to go through the same old makeup routines – which is often the case when you’re on vacation. Whether you opt for runway sunglasses or a classic pair of aviators is up to you. But a couple of pairs of sunglasses will be your best friend when it comes to keeping your style strong when on vacation.

See your hair stylist

It won’t take long for the sea winds to make a mess of the highest-quality of a haircut, so see your stylist and get some suggestions on how to keep your hair in great shape. You will want to talk about how to eliminate frizz, and possibly going for a loose, natural curl that will look great in all weathers. Headbands and hairbands can come in very handy for lounging on the beach, too. And if you have thin hair, please invest in a good summer hat – your scalp is at risk from burning just as much as your arms, shoulders, and legs.

Now that we’re almost officially in summer, it’s time to start getting vacation ready. Whether you’re visiting family for a few days, heading to the beach, or even flying out internationally, there’s nothing quite like the promise of a vacation to make you feel happy. But, before you get too excited, you’re going to want to make sure that you’ve got everything in order to have a good time. From your beauty prep to your packing prep, you’re only vacay ready when you’ve got these covered…

A Manicure

No holiday is perfect without a manicure to match. When you’re heading out to the beach for the weekend, or going on a romantic break away, you’re going to want to make sure your nails are up to scratch. Because a nice shiny manicure always makes you feel holiday ready. If you’re going to a hot climate, you’re going to want to make sure you have the pedicure to match too.

Luggage

Okay, so you’ve probably got some big suitcases tucked away in storage ready to check in for your flight or chuck in the boot of the car. But, what about your carry on? Summer Reads

No beach vacation is complete without the right summer read. Even if you’re heading out to a cozy cabin in the woods, or a super chic ski resort, a good book is perfect to help you relax and unwind. When it comes to finding the perfect read to keep you entertained while you’re away, you’re going to want to check out a list of summer beach reads and see which is right for you. With settings on the beach or in a city, you’re bound to find a book to match your own vacation.

Moisturizer

When you’re heading out to a hot location, your skin is going to suffer a little. We all know that we need sunscreen at the beach, or whenever the sun shines on our skin, but are you also packing enough moisturizer for your trip? When your skin starts to get dry, you need to make sure you can keep on top of your moisturizing regime to ensure that it stays healthy. It’s also important for colder climates, to keep your skin as hydrated as possible.

A Tan

And who doesn’t want to hit the beach with a perfect base tan? If you’re not lucky enough to live in a sunny climate and catch some rays at the weekend, you can always fake it. There are so many tanning lotions that can give you that perfect summer glow before you get there. So, take a look at the brands and styles available and see which tanning product is perfect for you.

Beside The Seaside- Fun Things To Do at The Beach!

There’s nothing nicer than a day out at the beach when the weather warms up. Plenty of sunbathing and relaxation is probably on the cards, but you don’t need to spend the entire time just lying around. Whether you want to get some exercise in or just have fun with friends and family, here are some activities you could do to make a day of it.

Play Some Water Sports

The ocean is a playground, and there are so many sports and fun activities you could try out! You could try surfing or paddleboarding, even if you’re not at a tropical beach and it’s a bit cooler you can purchase a wetsuit for SUP surfing to keep you warm in the water. How about snorkeling or scuba diving or even jet skiing- lots of beaches will have activities like this nearby where you can hire equipment and go on a tour or class. Especially if you’re in a more popular tourist area.

Play Games on The Beach

Even if you don’t fancy getting in the water, there are a ton of great games you can play on the beach itself. If you’re out with friends, how about setting up a game of cricket or beach volleyball? You could kick a ball around or throw a frisbee for your dog to chase. If you’re at the beach with kids, you could build sandcastles or take a walk to collect sea shells. Some exercise, fresh air, and fun all rolled into one.

Watch Out For Wildlife

You might think you need to be somewhere super tropical and sunny to see creatures like whales and dolphins. However, it’s not the case if you’re lucky you can see them from locations all across the world including America, Canada, the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Each destination also has its resident wildlife. You could explore a rockpool, or keep an eye out for crabs, turtles, lizards or any other fascinating species that live in the country you’re visiting.

Have a Picnic

There’s usually no shortage of cute cafes and food places near any touristy beach area. However, there’s something nice about packing up your own little stash and enjoying it out on the sand. Lay down a large blanket and pack up a cool bag with a selection of treats, not forgetting plastic cutlery and plates. If you’re visiting the beach with little ones, consider bringing a parasol or beach tent too. That way you can keep them shaded especially during the sunniest part of the day. If you’re planning on making a day of it, a picnic means you have enough to eat and drink. You don’t need to bother with the hassle of going to grab something to eat, or spend a lot of money!

So pack up the car with everything you need and head down to the beach! There are few better ways to spend a sunny day.

I’m Back!

Hey all! I am finally back!

My husband and I took our daughter on a great vacation to Walt Disney World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

We had a GREAT time! I am working on getting back into the swing of things, and have a lot of posts to get up.

Below are some pictures I was able to snap with my phone. Once I am able to upload from my camera, I’ll share those as well.

Hope you have all been great!
